Following the success of 2013's Newark Festival, headlined by Madness, Newark Town Council is pleased to announce their continued relationship with Liz Hobbs Group and have proudly named the company as Festival Directors for the next three years.
Councillor Dennis Jones, Chairman of the Environment & Leisure Committee, said “I am thrilled that we have been able to reach agreement with Liz Hobbs Group to keep the Newark Festival going, the last two events have been very popular across many criteria."
Liz Doogan-Hobbs, MBE, said that “Liz Hobbs Group is proud to be based in Newark and it is very important to us as a company to be able to support our local community and the Newark Festival is a fantastic way to do that. Last year a record number of visitors came into the town for the festival weekend and shops reported an amazing weekend of business. I am personally really proud to have played a small part in that boost. It's now our 3rd year organising the festival and we are really excited with the line-up for this year. We are learning year on year what residents want and I really hope that Newark residents buy tickets early, not just for a great weekends festival where there's something for everyone, but to ensure this festival continues every year, by us all supporting OUR town."
Liz Hobbs Group is delighted to announce that 2014's festival will be bigger and better. This year there will be two headliners over the weekend Union J and The Human League.
