Newark presents X Factors’ Overload Generation for Christmas Lights Switch On 2014

And the Countdown begins for this year's 2014 Newark Christmas Lights Switch on! Liz Hobbs Group have been busy preparing the stage for their magnificent line-up set to get you in the festive spirit. This year's event takes place on 30th November between 11am to 5pm at Newark Market Place.

Liz Hobbs Group (LHG) based in Newark, is one of the biggest production companies outside of London which is great for the local community. This year, fresh from the X Factor stage, Overload Generation will headline the celebrations. Highlights will also include a variety of exciting acts, ranging from the Pop/Rock band; Room 94, swing sensation; Matt Shepherdson and The Big Stuff to the Newark Town Band, Lincolnshire's Rock choir, and The Acetones.

Alan Mellor, Newark Town Clerk says "The Newark Christmas Lights Switch On is a great way to round off the year celebrate the official start to Christmas. It brings in a brilliant crowd, and supports the local business' community. We are lucky to have a highly skilled production company based in Newark working with us".

Councillor Dennis Jones, Chairman of the Environment & Leisure Committee says "I am particularly pleased with the entertainment line-up for this year. We have a mix of local acts and those with a nationally known profile. It should be another fantastic day and I am delighted that the Town Council continues to provide this much for a greatly anticipated free event. I am also pleased that the Town Council has been able to obtain sponsorship for the event through the Newark branch of Haarts Estate Agents"
