Up and coming superstar to open Saturday’s Newark Festival
Opening the Saturday Concert, singer song writer Max Restaino will perform in the afternoon ahead of X Factor Star Fleur East, in what is going to be the biggest year for the festival yet!
Reggae legends UB40 – featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue will headline the festival on Saturday 17 June. The brilliant Level 42 will join them as special guests with The Original Wailers also performing! What a line up! Five incredible artists on the one day!
Max Restaino said “What a fantastic opportunity to perform for a really great crowd. I am thrilled to be part of the Newark Festival and to be performing on the same stage as UB40, Level 42 and the Original Wailers. And to open for the very talented Fleur East is incredible. I am going to deliver a superb show and give it everything I have got… including a few surprise BIG hit covers! I am looking forward to this gig as I know how fun Newark crowds can be!”
At just 20 years old, Max Restaino has already amassed a wealth of experience, having toured all over the UK, and towards the end of last year, supported Rebecca Ferguson as special guest on her 20-date Superwoman UK tour. He has worked with some of the biggest names in show business from Gary Barlow of Take That to Peter Kay!
2016 saw Max write, produce and record his debut album ‘The Time It Takes’, performing all the instruments and producing every song on the album, with one of the tracks ‘Fall’ leading to him being featured on the innovative eight-week SKY TV series ‘Tin Pan Alley’, hosted by legendary Radio 1 DJ Mike Read. The song, and Max not only became a regular appearance on the Sky TV Show Biz Channel, but also earned him a PRS songwriters award. No mean feat for a 20 year old!
Hailing from Sheffield, Max is steadily building a strong fan base, and his distinctive style is a clear indicator of influences that include Michael Jackson, ELO and Super Tramp, all particularly clear in his melodies and chords. His latest singles, from the album ‘The Time It Takes’, ‘Give Me All Your Loving’ and ‘No’, elude to those retro influences, but with a modern, club, pop production; the result being the great and unique MAX sound. A sound which appeals to older and younger crowds.
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of LHG Live, organisers of the event said “Max Restaino is an emerging new talent as both a singer songwriter and instrumentalist, and we are certain he will prove very popular with the Newark crowd. This will be our finest year, with so many fabulous additions and an incredible line-up. Be sure to buy your tickets soon, and we’ll look forward to seeing everyone at Riverside Park.”
Max Restaino will perform on Saturday 17 June in the afternoon ahead of the X Factor Star Fleur East, before the main evening line-up. This year for the first-time gates will open at the earlier time of 2.00pm to allow for an afternoon of entertainment.
