Before the concert

Where will I find information?

Important information will be published on the Kent Event Centre website www.kenteventcentre.co.uk/news/

This Frequently Asked Questions section will be regularly updated. We advise that you look at this page to remind yourselves of all of the relevant information for the concert prior to travelling and to ensure you enjoy your evening.

What are the timings of the concert?

12.00pm Car Parks open (please note there is no vehicular access to the Kent Event Centre before 12 noon)

4.00pm Arena Gates Open

5.40pm KMFM DJ Set

6.40pm Rak-Su, Germein Sisters, Little Mix

9.45pm Concert Ends

What do I bring?

-Ticket (s)/Wristband (s) (Please put the wristbands on before you get to the concert)

-Valid ID

-Wear Comfortable shoes (remember this is an outdoor event)

-Appropriate clothing for all weather

-Medical info if you have any medical conditions

-Cash/Card

-Provisions for the car (remember this is a sold-out concert for 30,000 people and you should expect delays when leaving the venue. Please bring some water, refreshments, warmer clothing, maybe a pillow for little ones and leave them in your car, oh and make sure you have sufficient fuel)

What are the conditions of entry?

Whilst you can have water and refreshments in your car, please note that security staff will enforce the Little Mix conditions of entry at the entrance to the concert arena.

When you enter the concert arena you may be subject to a personal search, and you will undergo a bag search, so if you can travel light without a bag that will be better.

The following items are prohibited in the concert arena, so please do not bring them with you, as they will be confiscated: -

No bags over A4 in size

If you have a medical condition which requires special dietary requirements, please bring a medical card or other proof of your condition

No long lens cameras, i pads, go pros or selfie sticks

No banners or posters over A3 in size

No banners, posters, flags of political or religious nature or anything detrimental to Little Mix or any support artist

No weapons, no bladed or pointed items

No drugs, legal-highs or illegal substances

No aerosols, gas canisters or air horns

No flares or fireworks

No chairs, blankets, or seats

No umbrellas (unless otherwise stated)

No marker or laser pens

Any restricted potentially harmful fluids

Tickets

Will there be a box office collection point on the day?

On the day there will be a box office at the entry point from Blue and Red Car Parks at the Eastern side of the arena, and another box office the entry point for Yellow Car Park and Green drop off and pick up location. Car Parks on the Western side of the arena. This will open from 12pm onwards. Any tickets/wristbands that have been purchased in advance and not received can be picked up from either the Eastern or Western box office.

I have tickets to collect on the day – where do I pick them up from?

Tickets which are left for collection will be available to pick up from either box office located on the Eastern and Western sides of the arena. Anyone collecting tickets will need to ensure they bring proof of ID

Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?

All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

How many people is the concert for?

Approximately 30,000

Will we get a refund if it rains?

The concert will not be cancelled if it rains. Please note tickets are non-refundable.

Is there a Hospitality area?

Yes, the hospitality packages can be purchased in advance, the package includes a golden circle ticket, arrival drink, two course buffet meal, VIP Parking, fast-track entry and access to private room, bar and facilities. Travelling to the concert

Setting off

The concert is being held at the Kent Event Centre, Kent Showground and the roads into and out of the area will be busy. Please allow plenty of time for your journey. Follow the direction of traffic staff and stewards.

What time will the gates be open for the concert?

12.00pm Car Park open

4.00pm Gates Opens

Which gate do we use on the day of the concert?

All concert-goers arriving in a vehicle and wishing to park for the duration of the concert will be directed towards the main showground gate Sat Nav ME14 3JF

Public Drop Offs/Pick Ups ONLY

The public drop off and pick-up area is in the Green car park off Scragged Oak Lane, situated off the A249.

Drivers will be allowed to drive in to drop passengers off but will not be permitted to stay on site.

Concert goers will then be directed into the concert on foot. Please follow the directions of our stewards when crossing Scragged Oak Lane into the showground, we want to ensure all guests are safe.

You will follow the same pedestrian route back to the pick up area after the show.

Drivers picking up family or friends should please return to the Green car park before 9.30pm.

Taxis

Taxis will also access via Scragged Oak Lane and will be permitted to enter the Showground at Gate 6 to drop off their passengers. There will be a taxi rank inside the showground for return passengers.

Coach/bus parking

All coaches/shuttle buses will enter the venue via Scragged Oak Lane and Gate 6. Coach drivers please follow the direction of our stewards.

Return buses will depart from a designated bus stop area inside the showground after the show.

Are you providing a shuttle bus service?

Bus operator Arriva will operate shuttle buses from Maidstone Bus Station at a fare of £5 per person return.

Concert goers using the shuttle buses should use the many public pay and display car parks in Maidstone town centre and pay the appropriate car park charge before boarding the shuttle bus.

Please note, this bus service is highly recommended as an alternative to avoid the inevitable delays on exiting the concert car parks at the showground.

Can I arrive at the venue by foot?

We do not advise concert goers to arrive by foot, the A249 is a very busy and dangerous road. There will be no pick up or drop off points along the A249 so please do NOT get dropped off or picked up along this road. If any concert goers are arriving from the local villages (although not advised) please use the Jade’s Crossing at the bottom of the A249.

Can I arrive by Train?

Concert goers are discouraged from arriving by train. The nearest train stations to the showground are Maidstone, Maidstone West and Sittingbourne. Train operators will be operating their usual Sunday service, and with the potential of a 30-60 minute taxi or bus ride back to either station, there is a risk that all services will have ceased. Is there a preferred taxi provider?

Streamline taxi will be providing taxis to and from the Kent Event Centre and can be contacted on 01732 750000

Parking

Due to the high volume of people attending the concert, we strongly advise people to leave plenty of time to travel, and where possible look at utilising the other travel options available.

What are the parking facilities?

Parking will be on grass with parking marshals directing the car flow. There are three car park areas – Blue, Red and Yellow. Accessible parking will be located in the Yellow parking area. The drop off and pick up facility will be operating in the Green area.

Is there accessible parking and how close is it to the arena?

Yes, accessible parking will be available closer to the arena situated in the Yellow Parking zone. Please show blue badges to car parking marshals on arrival to ease the flow of traffic.

How early can we park?

The car parks will be advertised as opening to the public from 1200. Vehicles arriving prior to 1200 will be turned away from the main gate and invited to return later.

Anyone arriving between 1200-1600 will, once parked, be held in the safe waiting areas outside the arena entrances until the arena gates open.

What time can we go into the arena?

4PM

Is there a parking charge?

Parking for the concert is free of charge, however concert goers are invited to car share where possible in order to reduce overall car volumes. Please speak to your school friends, family or peers and share transport where possible

If using a shuttle bus service – how much will this cost?

Arriva will be running a shuttle bus service to the Kent Event Centre from Maid East (County Hall), Chequers (Stop H3) and Detling. Tickets are available to purchase at £5 per person for a return ticket. The full bus timetable can be found HERE. Tickets can be purchased in advance from HERE

Can I leave my car overnight at the Kent Event Centre?

No cars can be left at the showground overnight. The showground and concert organisers accept no liability for any vehicles left on site post-concert. Any vehicles left over night may be subject to towing.

When you are here for the concert

Where do I go when I arrive at the Kent Event Centre?

Once parked or dropped off in the designated areas, all event attendees should make their way to the holding areas signposted and directed by stewards/security on the day. The arena will open at 4pm

What are the holding areas and what is provided?

Two holding areas will be provided at each end of the arena, in these areas, toilets, medical and drinking water will be provided. These areas will be open from 12noon onwards for early arrivals. There is also some fairground rides in the waiting areas to help pass the time before gates open.

Is there a designated area for disabled concert-goers?

On arrival blue badge holders will be directed to the Yellow car park. They should then make their way to the holding area. Once gates open Accessible ticket holders ONLY will have a designated viewing area next to the stage. This is at level on the grass (not on a raised platform) but does have an unrestricted view of the stage.

Please note being a blue badge holder does not guarantee access to the disabled viewing area. This area is only for pre-purchased accessible ticket holders. Please report to the box office on arrival if you require further information.

Will there be first aid cover?

Yes. Med Event will be in attendance before, during and after the concert. Should you or anyone in your party require first aid, please notify the nearest steward/security person who will deal with your request. First aid points will be clearly signposted around the venue.

What do I do in an emergency?

There are stewards/security/welfare staff/first aiders and event staff all on duty at the concert, locate a member of staff for any emergencies, who will be able to assist or locate the correct assistance. If you need to contact the Police to report a non-emergency crime or need to provide information on a crime while onsite, please call 101. If a serious or life-threatening crime is being committed, please contact a member of staff immediately.

What do I do if I have lost a child/person onsite?

Please advise any member of the security and stewarding team and they will alert the welfare centre and take it from there. Any lost children should contact a member of the security team who will be able to help locate parents/guardians.

Can we go in and out of the arena?

Routinely guests will not be allowed to leave and re-enter the concert arena unless in an emergency, however this will be determined on a case by case basis on the day.

Will there be concession stands?

There will be ample concessions for food and drink within the concert site. No food or drink can be brought into the arena, exceptions are baby food, food and drink required due to allergies/dietary requirements (but this must be supported with medical documentation) and one sealed bottle of water up to 500ml.

There will be water points on site where you can have access to free drinking water and replenish bottles.

Any alcohol purchased at any of the bars within the venue must be consumed onsite and not taken out of the designated venue area. In keeping with licensing laws, there will be a Challenge 25 Policy in place for all alcohol sales.

Will the concession stands cater for dietaries?

Yes, some catering concessions will provide for dietary needs.

Can we bring a picnic?

No food or drink is allowed to be brought into the concert arena. No glassware will be allowed.

Can we bring chairs and/or blankets?

All form of seating is prohibited, this includes deck chairs, canvas chairs, camping chairs, stools, and blankets

What is the concert arena like?

The concert is outdoors and will be located in the grounds of the Kent Event Centre. The terrain is grass and tarmac roadways.

What clothing should I wear?

Please come prepared if the forecast is for hot weather. Apply sunscreen especially to children. Wear a hat for shade. Suitable footwear is recommended for grass. Please bear in mind it will be a long day so be prepared for all weather conditions. It may turn colder later and it will take some considerable time to clear the event car parks

What lavatories will there be?

Designated male and female toilets will be provided and there will also be accessible toilets onsite.

Is photography allowed?

Only as normal usage of a personal camera or mobile phone. The unauthorised use of photographic equipment including the use of drones and other recording equipment is prohibited. No professional or long lens camera equipment. No i-pads and no go pro permitted. We want everyone to enjoy the concert – it’s a great show, so we’d encourage you to keep your phone in your pocket and enjoy the music! Believe it or not the artist much prefers to see you than the back of your phone!

What is the policy on umbrellas if it rains?

No umbrellas will be allowed as it blocks the view for the audience. Can we bring our dog?

No dogs other than assistance dogs will be permitted.

Can I get mobile phone coverage?

There will be limited telephone and broadband coverage and as is often the case in large crowds, it is unlikely that 3G or 4G signal will be reliable.

Will there be cash machines onsite?

Credit/debit card payment facilities are in place however will run off 3G or 4G signal which will be limited due to the large number of concurrent users and the rural location of the site. We strongly recommend that you bring ample cash and do not rely on card payment.

After the concert

What time will the concert finish?

The concert is due to finish at approximately 9.45PM

Will you have any post-concert entertainment?

There will be no entertainment at the concert once Little Mix’s set has finished although the fairground rides will operate for a further 30 minutes.

How long will it take to get out of the arena?

Please take your time, no rushing or pushing when leaving the arena through the gates. Leaving the arena could take a considerable amount of time so please bear this in mind when advising taxi’s and pickups. The organisers may delay and ‘pulse’ people out of the concert arena to avoid car parks becoming over congested. This will be for your own wellbeing so please bear with us and follow the direction of the stewards and security.

Some priority will be given to shuttle buses which is why we recommend using that service rather than the private car.

How long will it take to get out of the car parks?

Please note it will take a number of hours to get out of the venue via car, this will be communicated through signs and car parking marshals on the night. Please bring provisions in the car in case of this egress and note medical, catering and toilet facilities will be provided in the car parks also. Concert goers with children are advised to bring adequate food and drink for the return journey. For those travelling by car it’s advised to bring a blanket and a pillow for the car journey home. Make sure your vehicle has sufficient fuel.
