Newark’s music event promoter shows their support for Pudsey with the Team LHG Pudsey Cycle Challenge
Liz Hobbs Group answered BBC Children in Need's call to ‘Do Your Thing’ to raise money to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK, with a sponsored cycle and a bake sale on Friday 16 November. The Team LHG Pudsey Cycle Challenge and cake bake raised a combined £1300 for Children in Need.
Since 1980 Children in Need has raised over £972 million to help change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the Appeal.
The team at Liz Hobbs Group fully embraced the ‘Do Your Thing’ challenge this year with their very own Rickshaw Challenge inspired sponsored cycle. Throughout the course of the Children in Need Day staff took turns to cycle hard over seven hours to help reach an impressive total of 106 miles. Children in Need’s infamous mascot, the loveable Pudsey Bear even came along to cheer on Team LHG, who really went to town with the theme, sporting polka dots, Pudsey ears and plenty of yellow! It was a fantastic day, and thanks to the generosity of many sponsors the total of £1076.10 was raised.
Reflecting on the day Liz Doogan-Hobbs, CEO of Liz Hobbs Group said “Children in Need is an incredible cause and we really couldn’t not get behind this once again this year and help them to continue to do the lifechanging work they do across the county. As a music promoter our passion is seeing people come together and enjoy incredible moments with one another. Children in Need is no exception, and I am so proud of the team here at LHG who put so much energy behind the day. It was brilliant fun, and we owe a huge thank you to each of the businesses and individuals who kindly sponsored us. Thank you. We now have to start planning for Pudsey 2019!”
